Reviews … Nick Hammer – Blood Money & Nick Hammer – The Lost Girls

Blood Money is a quick book that you can read in a few hours, but the author packed in the drama and character development. This book kept me hooked, turning each page to find out what happened next. I can't wait to see what Nick and Mags tackle next.

5.0 out of 5 stars  Engaging Private Eye

This crime novella is indeed a page-turner. Nick Hammer is a crusty, beer-drinking ex-cop with a cold case to solve and an ax to grind. Despite his gruff exterior, Hammer is a decent man and a likeable character. The repartee between him and his reluctantly accepted partner is entertaining; the story combines wit and suspense in an engaging combination.

Great book! So easy to read but at the same time I wanted to take it really slow as I didn’t want it to end. Really happy there is another one out “The Lost Girls”. Highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Nasty Business

This novella starts with a very dysfunctional family, a member of which has gotten involved in a nasty business. She’s just a cog in the machine, however, of a major sex-slave market operation. Nick Hammer and his trusty side-kick Mags Gomez get pulled into the case, indirectly by their mystery helpers from a previous case. We find out more about Watershed, while Hammer and Gomez start investigating the case of a missing teenager, which ends up costing Gomez a lot. The working relationship between the two heroes develops, and the banter between the two of them, and between these uninhibited Texans and their more urbane clients is entertaining. The action is fast-paced, making this a fun, just-one-more-chapter read.

The first three reviews are for Blood Money.  The fourth review is for The Lost Girls.  All reviews can be found on Amazon.

A Nibble From ... The Lost Girls & Nick Hammer

Tiffany Johnson regained consciousness just to find herself in another cage.  Unlike her confinement in Texas she was able to move around.  And again, she was not alone.
A voice that belonged to one of her new companions explained to her that they left the port of Charleston many hours ago and were going to Liverpool to be auctioned to the highest bidder.  There were a total of seven girls in the container.  They were given a large cooler with sandwiches and four cases of water.   Two five gallon piss buckets and a package of toilet paper sat in the rear corner.  A small lantern with energy almost drained provided them with an eerie light.
Tiffany had nothing but time on her hands to think about her miserable future.  She and the other girls were to be sold, like cattle at an auction.  To what end?  Breeding stock or just for sexual pleasure?  How does a girl get used to that?  What did I do to get into this mess?  But Tiffany damned well knew who initially took her:  that shithead Jessie Mae Martin.  Tiffany tried to sleep but gave serious thought to ending her life.
