A Blast From Nick Hammer - Body Parts

Nick and Magda managed to get some sleep but nothing to brag about.  Magda was in the office making coffee while Nick took a needed shower.  Two of Doc Hansen’s ex-wives club walked through the door with panic written on their faces.
“We need to see Hammer immediately,” Jackie stammered.  Jaime stood there and just shook her head.
“Hammer is currently unavailable.  What can I help you with?” Magda asked.
“We need to see Hammer,” Jackie insisted.
“Nick and I are partners.  We are working your case, together.  Whatever you want to tell Nick you can tell me.”
“No … you don’t get it!  We want Hammer!”
“Okay … alright … I see,” Mags said.  Magda got up from her chair and stood in the archway between the office and house.  “Hey Nick! Can you move it along?  Two thirds of the ex-wives club is here and will only talk to you.”  Mags turned back and faced Jaime and Jackie.  “So ladies, how’s that?  Hammer will be with you when he’s finished.  Take a seat …”
Jackie whispered to Jaime, “You see, I told you he’s boning her …”
Magda looked directly at the two women and said, “Let me tell you two twats something.  There’s nothin’ wrong with my hearing, nothing.   Hammer and I are business partners.

Nick Hammer - Body Parts ... A Taste

Luke Hansen rented a vehicle when he hunted his victims.  He picked up Billy and they went off in search of some poor soul that Luke believed would not be missed.  Billy Rhoades did his best to avoid small talk but sometimes he had to put up with it.
“Hey Billy,” Luke said.  “What are you doin’ with your share of the money?”
“Why the hell is that important to you?”
“Maybe you need some investment advice …”
          “From y’all … I don’t think so.”
          “You’re an ungrateful shit, Billy.”
“And you are gonna put us on death row, waitin’ for a lethal injection.”
“Awh Billy … relax, you worry too much … now looky over there … looks like we have this evening’s contender.  Go do your thing …”
Billy did what he did best – talk.  In a few minutes Billy’s smooth words about a hot meal, a few bucks, and clean clothes put the homeless man into Luke’s vehicle.  It only took the good doctor seconds to inject his victim with the deadly venom.

Body Parts - Nick Hammer

It was another court day for the Doc Hansen’s ex-wives club.  They were hungry.  If the bastard can buy a brand new custom made Camaro, he’s got money for us.  That’s what they thought.  That’s not what they got.
They failed to prove that Dr. Luke Hansen had any other real disposable income.  With federal tax returns in hand, Luke’s attorney proved that his income was damned near stagnant for the past three years.  The court did not care if Luke had a new car or not.  His income had not changed.  The members of the ex-wives club came up empty.
“Come on girls,” Joclyn moaned.  “We’ll go to Boudicca’s and figure something out.”
The staff at Boudicca’s never saw the ex-wives looking so glum.  Their first round of drink was on the house.
Jackie said, “I can’t believe that judge was so cold to us.”
“Sugar … he wasn’t cold, he was right.  We need to get the dirty details of Luke’s where-abouts … how he is makin’ his extra money,” Joclyn stated.
“People are talkin’ at Kroger … about Luke … they said he has a boat … at Kemah … he calls it … My 3X Wives,” Jaime meekly said.
Almost in two part harmony, Joclyn and Jackie yelped, “Luke’s got a boat?”

“You put in me a really bad position Luke,” Perry lamented.
“Don’t fret so much little bro … y’all worry too much … always did.  This is what we’re gonna do … Perry, you just relax … Billy here is gonna do all the grunt work.  Billy, you take what’s left of my good friend here and cremate him … Perry told me you’re really good at that stuff.  Burn his clothes too but make sure you get any ID the guy had on him … we’ll figure out a way to sell it.  Believe me, nobody will miss this guy.  Perry, don’t stroke out on me, even though there’s a doctor in the house.”  Luke chuckled at his word craft.
The organ buyer arrived and handsomely paid Dr. Hansen in cash.  Luke set the final hook for his brother, Perry.  He handed Perry a stack of cash.
“This is yours bro … think of it as a rental or use of space fee.  If you want Billy to have a few bucks, do it out of your share.  He’s not getting a dime from me.”

Luke watched as his brother counted the money.  When finished, Perry put aside what appeared to be a third.  The rest he stuffed into his pants pocket.  Luke held on to a thin smile; so much for my brother being a paragon of virtue.

Fighting Giants

Believing that we can control nature, getting nature to bend to our will is foolhardy.  We are a part of the very thing we seek to control....
